Using Stickers: Designate The Context For A Point In Time

What are Stickers?

Stickers are a way to associate contextual information with a specific snapshot taken at a specific moment.

Use stickers to help you and the team remember the snapshot that reflects events like:

  1. The data that reflects the Jira status when we did the customer presentation

  2. Release notes of our release x.y.z

A sticker is associated with a specific version of the snapshot data. As soon as a new snapshot is taken, the latest data will initially not have any stickers. You can add a sticker to the data as long as you do not take a new snapshot. You can also delete the existing sticker and create a new one.

A sticker associated with a previous version of the snapshot data cannot be modified.

How to set and modify a sticker

The “sticker” area appears right above the snapshots table, near the timestamp of the snapshot. Any user with EDIT access to the page can hover over the area and create a sticker or delete the sticker.

Where is sticker information displayed?

Stickers are viewed in three locations:

  1. On the page right above the snapshots table.

  2. In the DIFF interface, when selecting the historical version for comparison, the sticker appears near the timestamp of the snapshot it belongs to.

  3. When viewing historic pages (in Confluences history view), when a sticker exists, it will appear right above the snapshots table (the same location where it appears in the current page version)
